Approximately 17,000 liters of oil, possibly contaminated with PCBs, were spilled in Marbehan, Luxembourg due to theft at an old Infrabel substation.

The spill has affected the Mellier and Rulles rivers, extending into the Semois river; however, dilution is occurring due to high water levels.

Efforts to manage the spill include ongoing pump operations and tests to ascertain the level of PCB contamination, with findings expected in ten days.
