Deputy Killed in Ambush Responding to Georgia Domestic Dispute, First Line-of-Duty Death for Paulding County

Cunningham and another deputy arrived at the scene around 6:13 p.m. and were immediately met with gunfire from a suspect inside the home.
Major Ashley Henson reported that the suspect fired multiple shots at the officers, but only Deputy Cunningham was struck.
Cunningham was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
