A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed by a man at Miami International Airport on Saturday evening.

The attacker also attempted to throw the woman over a railing before being apprehended by police.

The incident, described as unprovoked, caused fears of an active shooter in Terminal J.

Passengers in Terminals J and H were evacuated and later re-screened as a precaution.

The victim sustained multiple knife wounds and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Detectives are investigating the motive behind the attack and have not confirmed if the attacker and victim knew each other.
