Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. and his wife, La'Quetta Small, are charged with child abuse against their teenage daughter.

Allegations include endangering welfare of a child, terroristic threats, aggravated assault, and simple assault from December 2023 to January 2024.

Incidents of alleged abuse involve Mayor Small hitting his daughter with a broom and La'Quetta Small punching and dragging the child.

The abuse reportedly caused the daughter to lose consciousness and left her with bruises and marks.

Mayor Small publicly denied the abuse claims at a news conference on April 1.

The case was investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit, which encourages anyone with more information to come forward.
