Ydy Cabada, spouse of SpaceX technician Francisco Cabada, is suing SpaceX for negligence following a severe injury her husband sustained during a rocket malfunction.

Francisco Cabada suffered head trauma when a fuel-controller assembly cover detached during a pressure check operation in January 2022.

OSHA's investigation indicates the accident might be linked to SpaceX's rushed engine development, potentially inadequate staff training, and improper testing.

The lawsuit adds to existing safety concerns at SpaceX, highlighted by over 600 unreported injuries since 2014, according to a Reuters report.

Neither SpaceX nor NASA, which contracts SpaceX for space missions, have publicly responded to the lawsuit.

The incident involves Raptor engines, essential to SpaceX's Starship rocket, which is slated for future NASA lunar missions.
