Theo Lengyel, former rock musician and founding member of Mr. Bungle, has been arrested on a first-degree murder charge.

The charge is in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Alice Herrmann.

Human remains were found near Lengyel's residence, with DNA confirmation pending.

Lengyel, also known as Mylo Stone, was suspected of driving from the Bay Area to Portland after Herrmann's disappearance.

He has been charged with first-degree murder, burglary, and auto theft.

Lengyel was arrested after human remains were found in Tilden Regional Park near San Francisco.

He is being held without bail and is set to appear in court on Jan. 16.

Lengyel left Mr. Bungle in 1996 and did not participate in the band's recent reunion tours.
