Following the attack, misinformation spread on social media incorrectly labeled Rudakubana as an asylum seeker, leading to widespread riots across the UK.

On July 29, 2023, a tragic knife attack in Southport, UK, resulted in the deaths of three young girls and injuries to ten others during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

The victims were identified as six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar, who succumbed to her injuries later.

The alleged attacker, 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana, was arrested shortly after the incident and has been charged with three counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder.

Rudakubana is scheduled to appear in court on December 12, 2023, to enter a plea to the charges, with his trial set to begin on January 20, 2025.

These disturbances resulted in violence against mosques and hotels housing asylum seekers, with over 1,500 arrests made during the unrest.
