Leicestershire Police Officers Probed for Misconduct in Handling of Nottingham Killer's Case

The investigation concerns their handling of inquiries related to Valdo Calocane, a paranoid schizophrenic who later went on a killing spree in Nottingham.
The IOPC is examining the actions of these officers before and after the attacks, as well as the broader interactions of Leicestershire Police with Calocane.
Complaints from the victims' families regarding Nottinghamshire Police's decisions and actions related to Calocane are also under review.
All members of Nottingham Police are considered witnesses in the ongoing investigation.
Valdo Calocane, who was given an indefinite hospital order for manslaughter and attempted murder, has had his appeal against the sentence rejected.
The investigation aims to determine if any officers have committed misconduct.
Calocane's legal aid bill has reached £28,248.
