Center Theatre Group and Deaf West Theatre are joining forces for a new production of Green Day's rock opera, American Idiot, directed by Snehal Desai.

This innovative production will feature an ensemble of both Deaf and hearing actors, performing simultaneously in American Sign Language and Spoken English.

The cast boasts notable performers, including Steven-Adam Agdeppa, Daniel Durant, and Milo Manheim, among others.

Choreography is crafted by Jennifer Weber, with ASL choreography by Colin Analco, enhancing the production's unique approach.

The design team includes Takeshi Kata for set design, Lena Sands for costumes, and Karyn Lawrence for lighting, contributing to the visual storytelling.

Musical supervision is handled by David O, with arrangements by Tom Kitt, while David S. Franklin serves as the production stage manager.

American Idiot, which has won Tony and Grammy Awards, marks the opening of Center Theatre Group's One CTG. One LA. Season.

The score features music by Green Day, with lyrics and book written by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer.

The production is set to run at the Mark Taper Forum, concluding its performances on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

Deaf West Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director DJ Kurs, has a rich history of collaborations with Center Theatre Group, including previous productions like Pippin and Big River.
