Motorola has unveiled its Razr 2025 lineup, which includes the Razr, Razr+, and Razr Ultra models, all featuring the innovative Perplexity AI alongside Google Gemini.

In a bid to diversify its offerings, Motorola has made the Razr Ultra available in four unique finishes, including a wood variant and luxurious Italian-made Alcantara.

The base Razr model is priced at $700 and is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chip, 8GB of RAM, a 6.9-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and dual 13-MP cameras.

All Razr models are rated IP48 for water resistance, providing protection against water but remaining susceptible to dust.

Notably, Motorola's new Razrs utilize Moto AI, integrating technology from AI leaders like Google and Microsoft, while excluding OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Despite its stylish features, the Razr line will receive only three years of major software updates and four years of security updates, which is less than competitors like Google and Samsung.

The Razr Ultra boasts a 7-inch 1224p 165Hz OLED main display and a 4-inch external pOLED screen, designed to minimize crease visibility.

At the launch event, Motorola emphasized AI features over hardware specifications, which drew some criticism regarding the focus on device capabilities.

The integration of Perplexity AI represents a significant shift in mobile information access, potentially reducing users' reliance on traditional ad-driven search results.

Each Razr model runs on Android 15 and features Google Gemini as the default voice assistant, with support for additional AI platforms, including Perplexity and Microsoft CoPilot.

In addition to the Razr lineup, Motorola introduced new accessories, including the Moto Buds Loop open-ear earbuds enhanced by Bose and the Moto Watch Fit, a budget smartwatch.

The introduction of Perplexity AI could foster a multi-assistant environment on Android, giving users more choices for digital assistance.
