OnePlus Watch 3 to Debut with Advanced ECG, Temperature Tracking, and Enhanced Features
December 31, 2024New measurement options will include a wrist temperature function that requires five days of baseline data for accurate tracking.
OnePlus is gearing up to launch the OnePlus Watch 3, which will feature advanced health monitoring capabilities.
Rumored specifications for the watch include a Snapdragon W5 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a larger battery exceeding 500mAh, and a 1.46-inch touchscreen.
The watch will introduce an ECG feature capable of detecting conditions such as sinus rhythm, atrial fibrillation, and irregular heartbeats.
In addition to ECG, users can track wrist temperature by establishing a baseline through five nights of sleep.
The device is expected to maintain an IP68 water resistance rating, similar to its predecessor, while also featuring a rotating crown for navigation.
It will run on a dual operating system configuration of Wear OS 5 and RTOS, enhancing battery life.
The companion OHealth app will introduce a new Health tab, providing insights into daily health events and tracking metrics like sleep and workouts.
Previous models of the OnePlus Watch were praised for their user interface and fitness tracking, although they faced criticism for inaccurate heart rate readings during exercise.
Recent leaks have corroborated the ECG and wrist temperature features, along with the inclusion of a rotary dial for navigation.
In addition to the smartwatch, OnePlus is also set to launch a budget tablet featuring an 11.6-inch display and a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor.
Moreover, the OnePlus 13 smartphone is confirmed to launch in the U.S. in January 2025, following its initial release in China.
