The highly anticipated play 'Stranger Things: The First Shadow' will debut on Broadway in 2025, with preview performances starting on March 28 and the official opening night scheduled for April 22.

This production is based on an original story by the Duffer Brothers, co-created with playwright Jack Thorne, and written by Kate Trefry, who also serves as a co-executive producer on 'Stranger Things.'

Set in the fictional town of Hawkins in 1959, the play serves as a prequel to the Netflix series, focusing on young Henry Creel and his family before the events of the show.

The storyline follows young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby, and Joyce Maldonado as they navigate life in Hawkins, encountering new student Henry Creel, who struggles with his telekinesis.

Henry Creel's desire to fit in leads him to Hawkins National Laboratory, where he becomes 001, the future Vecna, expanding the 'Stranger Things' universe.

The play, directed by Stephen Daldry and co-directed by Justin Martin, premiered in London's West End in late 2023 and has already won two Olivier Awards.

Tickets for the Broadway production will be available for presale on September 13, 2024, with general sales starting on September 17, 2024.

The Broadway production will feature designs by notable artists, including set design by Miriam Buether and original music by D.J. Walde.

The play promises stunning special effects and an engaging storyline that connects to the origins of the 'Stranger Things' series.
