Ex-Hurricane Ernesto is significantly impacting weather patterns across Europe, particularly bringing a heatwave to Germany.

This former tropical storm, which previously caused damage in Puerto Rico and the eastern US, is expected to influence temperatures in Germany, especially on August 23 and 24.

In Germany, temperatures are projected to reach 29 degrees Celsius in the east and south on August 23, with potential highs exceeding 30 degrees on the following day.

The weekend forecast indicates sunny and slightly breezy conditions, with some areas possibly hitting 33 degrees Celsius.

However, the German Weather Service (DWD) anticipates scattered showers, particularly in northern Brandenburg throughout the day.

As of August 21, warnings for storm gusts have been issued along Germany's North and Baltic Sea coasts, with residents in Niedersachsen and Bremen advised to prepare for rain and thunderstorms.

Despite the upcoming warm weather, some regions will still experience rain and strong winds before a more settled pattern emerges in early September.

Meanwhile, in the UK, the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto are expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds, with yellow warnings issued for large areas of Scotland, northern England, and parts of Wales.

The UK could see up to 100mm of rain and wind gusts reaching 60mph in the coming days, particularly affecting coastal regions.

A spokesperson from the Met Office indicated that many areas will start the bank holiday weekend with breezy conditions and showers.

Looking ahead, a 'Scandinavian high' pressure system is predicted to dominate the weather from August 27 to 30, bringing warmer air to the region.

The DWD forecasts a gradual decline in temperatures beginning August 25, but anticipates a potential resurgence of heat towards the end of the month.
