Romanian authorities conducted a search of influencer Andrew Tate's home on August 21, 2024, as part of an ongoing investigation into serious charges including human trafficking and rape.

The charges against the Tate brothers include forming an organized criminal group, trafficking minors, engaging in sexual relations with a minor, and money laundering, all of which they vehemently deny.

The raids were executed by Romania's anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, at four locations in Bucharest and Ilfov county, with a particular focus on trafficking minors and money laundering.

A recent court ruling overturned a previous decision that had allowed the Tate brothers to travel freely within the European Union while awaiting trial.

The Tates are also accused of intimidating victims and witnesses during the investigation, adding another layer to the serious allegations they face.

Investigators have identified seven victims in the case, with three of them set to appear as plaintiffs against the Tates and their alleged accomplices.

As they were taken into custody, Andrew Tate criticized the evidence against them, claiming it was fabricated and expressing frustration over the legal process.

During the search, dozens of police and forensic personnel were present, and DIICOT emphasized that all individuals involved retain their procedural rights and the presumption of innocence.

In addition to the current investigation, the Tate brothers are facing extradition to the UK over separate allegations of sexual aggression dating back to 2012-2015.

Since August 2023, the Tates have been free but prohibited from leaving Romania, during which time they have remained active on social media.

Previously, the Tates were under house arrest while awaiting trial for allegedly exploiting young women for commercial sex videos.

They were formally indicted last year on multiple charges related to human trafficking and sexual offenses, which they continue to deny.
