The Danish Government has announced its twentieth military aid package to Ukraine, which includes funding for the purchase of military equipment from the Ukrainian defense industry.

This new initiative is set to allocate approximately US$115 million for weapons procurement, reflecting Denmark's ongoing commitment to support Ukraine amidst the conflict.

Key components of the package include a DKK 300 million increase to the industrial pool for defense procurements and an additional DKK 112 million to finance purchases through Ukrainian defense enterprises.

Denmark's financial contribution to Ukraine's defense industry has now reached a total of US$215 million, showcasing a significant commitment to bolstering Ukraine's military capabilities.

The Danish foreign minister has confirmed that there are no objections to Ukraine using these weapons in combat against Russian forces.

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen emphasized the importance of continued support for Ukraine, while Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen reaffirmed Denmark's role as a loyal supporter and a standard-bearer for military assistance.

The funding for this military initiative will be drawn from the Ukraine Fund and is pending final approval by the Finance Committee of the Danish parliament.

Out of the total military aid, 46.1 billion Danish kroner (around US$6.8 billion) has already been spent or pledged since the onset of the war.

Denmark has been consistently preparing new military aid packages for Ukraine since the war began, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to support.

The allocated funds for this military initiative are expected to be disbursed within the current year, addressing both short-term and long-term defense needs as requested by Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Denmark's support, acknowledging the leadership of Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and the contributions of the Danish people and Parliament.
