Ex-Police Officer Charged with Double Murder of TV Presenter and Boyfriend; Bodies Found in Surfboard Bags
August 14, 2024Beau Lamarre-Condon, a former police officer, has been formally charged with the domestic violence-related murders of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and her boyfriend Luke Davies.
The alleged murders occurred on February 19 when Lamarre-Condon reportedly shot the victims with his police service weapon at Baird's home in Paddington while off-duty.
The bodies of Baird and Davies were discovered on February 27 inside surfboard bags at a rural property in Bungonia, approximately 200 kilometers southwest of Sydney.
The investigation began when bloodied clothing was discovered in a skip bin in Cronulla on February 21, prompting police to investigate Baird's residence.
Following his arrest, Lamarre-Condon provided information that assisted police in locating the victims' bodies during a large search effort.
Prior to her death, Baird reportedly expressed concerns about a shadowy figure in her home.
Lamarre-Condon appeared via video-link at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court, facing two counts of domestic violence-related murder and one count of break and enter.
The initial charges included two counts of murder and one count of break and enter, but the murder charges have now been withdrawn.
During a recent court appearance, multiple charges against Lamarre-Condon were dropped, leaving him facing two charges of domestic violence-related murder and one charge of break and enter.
Lamarre-Condon is scheduled to appear in court again on October 8, where he will again appear via video-link.
He was dismissed from the NSW Police Force in mid-March following the incidents.
Police have alleged that Lamarre-Condon exhibited 'predatory' behavior towards Baird prior to the killings.
