Disney+ is set to release Season 35 of The Simpsons, which concluded its run on Fox in May, on October 2, along with a Halloween-themed short.

The Halloween episode, titled 'Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes,' will feature three different narrative settings, including a dystopian future.

This season will also include the traditional 'Treehouse of Horror' trilogy, with stories featuring giant monsters and Mr. Burns facing ghostly workers.

In addition to the Halloween special, new episodes titled 'The Past and the Furious,' 'Yellow Planet,' and a Christmas-themed double episode 'O C’mon All Ye Faithful' will air in the coming months.

The Christmas-themed episode will premiere on December 17, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the show's first episode.

During the D23 convention, executive producers announced that four new episodes will exclusively air on Disney+ this season.

The Simpsons will return to Fox on September 29, 2023, with a Bart-centric episode that promises significant changes for Springfield.

This marks the first instance of The Simpsons producing an entire exclusive episode for Disney+, raising questions about the show's future on Fox.

Season 36 will also include a partnership with Stoopid Buddy to create a 'Venom' parody for the 'Treehouse of Horror' special.

Upcoming storylines in Season 36 will include Grampa revealing his past as a private detective and a spoof titled 'Yellow Lotus.'

These announcements were made by key figures, including Matt Groening and Nancy Cartwright, during Disney's annual D23 event.

Disney+ has previously featured several exclusive 'The Simpsons' shorts since 2021, building anticipation for the upcoming releases.
