Despite the overall national decrease, prices in states like Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Colorado have dropped, while in Chicago, prices range from $4.30 to $4.74 per gallon.

Factors such as inflation adjustment and lower oil prices have contributed to the overall decrease in prices.

Hurricane Beryl and the ongoing hurricane season could further drive up gas prices nationwide, indicated by a temporary increase in U.S. oil prices.
