A mass shooting at Maplewood Park in Rochester, New York, on Sunday evening resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to at least six others.

Police responded to reports of gunfire around 6:20 p.m. during a large gathering at the park, which was confirmed to be a barbeque event.

The deceased victim has been identified as Phylicia Council, 34, a talented designer and event planner, known for her company 'Imperfectly Perfect.'

Among the injured, at least one individual is in critical condition, while five others sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

Surviving victims received treatment at local hospitals, with some transported by ambulance and others by private vehicle.

The identity of the deceased victim has not been fully released pending family notification, but she was known to be in her 30s.
