A 23-year-old mother was deliberately killed in a hit-and-run attack in Daisy Hill, Queensland on Friday.

Police have charged a 24-year-old woman with murder for allegedly targeting the victim with a silver Toyota Prado.

The victim, known to the driver, was struck on a footpath and later died in the hospital.

The driver fled the scene but was later arrested.

The victim had just dropped her daughter off at daycare before the incident.

A 24-year-old woman from Goodna has been taken into custody and is expected to appear in court.

Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly the driver or passengers of a bus in the area that morning.

Detectives have seized the vehicle involved and are examining forensic evidence.

The motive for the attack is not yet known and the case is now before the courts.

The family of the victim is deeply traumatised by the incident.
