Severe flooding caused by a thunderstorm in Haute-Marne, France, led to ten minor injuries and significant damage in various communities.

Violent storms struck the eastern part of France on Saturday night, with the village of Meures experiencing devastating mudslides.

Gaëlle Esprit, a resident of Meures, highlighted the unexpected intensity of the storms.

The storm delivered over 50mm of rain in one hour and nearly 100mm in six hours in some areas.

Around 600 incidents required the response of over 450 firefighters due to the storms.

Meures was one of the hardest hit areas, suffering severe injuries and flooding.

Although Météo-France has lifted orange storm warnings, 31 eastern departments remain under yellow alert.

The situation remains critical with potential for rapid water rise and extensive damage in multiple communities.
