A small plane crash in rural New York claimed the lives of five family members from Georgia.

The victims included Roger Beggs, Laura Van Epps, Ryan Van Epps, James Van Epps, and Harrison Van Epps.

The Piper Malibu Mirage aircraft crashed near Lake Cecil Road in Masonville shortly after takeoff from Albert S. Nader Regional Airport in Oneonta.

The family was returning from a baseball tournament in Cooperstown and were en route to Atlanta, Georgia, with a planned refueling stop in West Virginia.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the New York State Police, FAA, and NTSB, who deployed drones, ATVs, and helicopters to locate the wreckage.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp offered condolences to the victims' families.

The FAA confirmed that there were no survivors on board the aircraft.
