A teenager was shot and killed by Dayton Police on Negley Place.

The teenager allegedly pointed a Glock 17 with a loaded 30 round magazine at officers during a response to a vacant house/block party issue.

The Dayton Unit of the NAACP is investigating the incident and will request body cam footage.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is leading the criminal investigation.

The Dayton Police Professional Standards Bureau will handle the administrative investigation.

The community is mourning the loss and calling for transparency and unity to address the impact of gun violence in the area.

Mayor Jeffrey Mims and Police Chief Kamran Afzal were present at the scene.
