A fatal collision on the B1224 Wetherby Road near York involved a white Tesla Model 3 and a double-decker bus.

The incident resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man from Newcastle.

It occurred near Rufforth at 09:22 BST on Saturday.

Five others were injured, including the 32-year-old Tesla driver from Teesside who sustained serious injuries.

Emergency services, including air ambulances, responded to the scene.

The road was closed until 5.25pm.

Three other Tesla passengers and the bus driver suffered minor injuries.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to aid in their investigation.

The road has since been reopened.
