Jordan Patten, a 19-year-old Australian man, has been arrested by the Joint Counter Terrorism Team in Newcastle.

Patten is accused of planning a terrorist attack at NSW Labor MP Tim Crakanthorp's office.

Patten was found with knives, tactical gear, and neo-Nazi propaganda and has been charged with a terrorism offense.

He appeared in court via videolink and is accused of intending to kill Crakanthorp due to his political status.

Patten circulated a 200-page manifesto detailing extremist views.

The incident did not result in any harm to Crakanthorp or his staff.

Patten did not apply for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

Authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Authorities are urging the public to report any extremist activities or threats.

MP Crakanthorp has confirmed the incident and stated that police are managing the situation.
