La Tontouta airport will reopen for commercial flights on Monday, following the easing of an overnight curfew now starting at 8 pm.

Schools are set to gradually reopen as well.

Despite these efforts, tensions remain high between pro-independence Kanaks and pro-France factions, with ongoing calls for the complete abandonment of the contested law.
