Severe storms and reported tornadoes have wreaked havoc across the central and southern US, leading to at least four deaths and over a dozen injuries.

Affected states include Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with tornado emergencies declared in parts of Michigan, Nebraska, and Iowa.

In Tennessee, a confirmed tornado resulted in one fatality and numerous injuries, with substantial property damage reported in Ohio.

States of emergency have been declared in North Carolina and several counties in Michigan, with $45 million allocated for recovery efforts in the latter.

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado with 135mph winds, advising residents to maintain a safety plan as severe weather persists.
