Apple has submitted a proposal to the EU following fines for anti-competitive practices towards music streaming services.

The proposal allows streaming apps to direct users to alternative payment methods outside the App Store with a 27% fee on purchases made through external links.

Apple's App Store Review Guidelines have been updated to permit retro game emulator apps, a move possibly influenced by regulatory pressure.

While emulators are legal, using them to play pirated games is not, and any emulator apps on iOS would not provide guidance on sourcing ROMs, requiring users to find ROMs legally.

EU regulators are reviewing Apple's proposal, with the potential for further antitrust charges and fines if the response is deemed inadequate.
