They claim their payment was disproportionately low compared to the film's $250 million gross earnings, having received only thousands.

Joshua Leonard led the group in an open letter, emphasizing their ongoing connection to the franchise.

The reboot plans by Lionsgate and Blumhouse were made without prior knowledge or consultation of the original team.

The demands include retroactive pay, future residuals, creative consultation, and an annual $60,000 fund from Lionsgate for supporting new filmmakers.

Lionsgate has yet to formally address the compensation and consultation requests.
