A tram crash at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday evening resulted in 15 injuries during a backlot tour.

The accident was caused by the last car of the tram striking a guardrail, leading to passengers being ejected.

Some injuries are moderate and brake failure is suspected to be the cause of the crash.

Victims were transported to local hospitals, and the theme park was operating at 25% capacity with COVID-19 safety measures.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident; substance impairment has been discounted as a cause.

Universal Studios has yet to issue a statement regarding the tram accident.
