George Osborne, former UK chancellor, has joined cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase as an advisor.

Osborne's role will be pivotal in helping Coinbase navigate global regulatory challenges and expansion efforts.

He brings valuable experience from his tenure in government, international finance, and fintech investing.

Coinbase's Global Advisory Board includes other political veterans such as former U.S. Senator Patrick Toomey and former U.S. Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. Esper.

Despite an ongoing lawsuit with the SEC, Coinbase is likely to have a 70% chance of dismissal, as per a Bloomberg analyst.

Osborne's appointment is strategic for Coinbase's growth, especially in the UK, which is identified as a key market, and other countries where licensing is pursued.
