Polish Fintech BidFinance Secures €1.6M to Boost Debt Auction Platform and Expand Internationally
April 15, 2025
Polish fintech startup BidFinance has successfully raised €1.6 million in funding to enhance its auction platform for trading debt portfolios.
The investment was secured from notable backers including 4growth VC, FundingBox, Digital Ocean Ventures, and several business angels, as announced on April 15, 2025.
This funding will enable BidFinance to strengthen its position in Poland and support its international expansion plans, particularly targeting the Nordic countries, where annual unsecured debt sales are estimated between €8-10 billion.
BidFinance plans to utilize the funds to improve its presence in the Polish market while enhancing its debt trading process.
Founded in 2022 by Zenia Karastoyanov, BidFinance digitizes and standardizes debt portfolio trading, connecting sellers like banks and telecoms with buyers including investment funds and collection agencies.
The platform employs an auction model that enhances transaction transparency, increases sellers' prices, and lowers entry barriers for buyers.
Sellers using BidFinance's services have reported significant price increases for their portfolios, with one client seeing values rise from 15% to 26%, and some auctions adding over 80% in value.
Since its inception, BidFinance has executed over 70 transactions involving debt portfolios worth over €280 million (PLN 1.2 billion), with nearly 70 active buyers representing 90% of the market.
Looking ahead, BidFinance anticipates generating its first international revenues in 2025 through collaborations with European entities.
By 2028, the company expects the Polish market to contribute 20% of its total revenue, highlighting the critical role of the secured funding for its platform development and international growth.
Tomasz Mazuryk from FundingBox emphasized the strong market validation of BidFinance's auction platform for debt portfolios in Poland.
Tomasz Biłous of 4growth VC underscored the startup's potential to become an international leader in digitizing and improving debt portfolio sales processes.
