To enhance its impact, the organization is pursuing collaborations with regional experts and global markets, aiming to foster significant breakthroughs in its focus areas.
Bill Provine, PhD, who serves as the President, CEO, and Founder, highlights that the startups associated with The Innovation Space are not only transforming industries but also improving lives.
Situated at the historic DuPont Experimental Station, The Innovation Space boasts a 130,000 square foot campus equipped with advanced laboratories and business support tailored for early-stage companies.
The organization has introduced the Early-Stage Growth Grant, which provides essential lab space and access to equipment for startups for up to two years.
Additionally, The Innovation Space acts as the entrepreneurship lead for the PROPEL Precision Medicine Tech Hub, which is focused on commercializing precision medicine technologies within the Greater Philadelphia region.
Since its inception, The Innovation Space has propelled over 130 companies, including Prelude Therapeutics and NiKang Therapeutics, which have collectively raised more than $1.2 billion and created over 900 jobs.
To further support the evolving needs of startups, The Innovation Space is actively seeking new industry mentors and partners.
In 2024, the organization upgraded its facilities with new tools like a Scanning Electron Microscope and Flow Cytometer, significantly enhancing the resources available to startups.
The Early-Stage Growth Grant initiative aims to help startups bridge early funding gaps and has already provided benefits to several ventures at The Innovation Space.
