Zeelo, a smart bus startup, has acquired Kura, a UK-based school transportation and safeguarding software company.

Financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, though Zeelo recently secured $14 million for UK expansion and US market entry.

Kura, established in 2010, provides SaaS and TaaS platforms aimed at improving the safety and efficiency of various transport services.

The merger creates the UK's largest virtual bus fleet, serving over 220 customers with 450 operator partners and 40,000 daily users.

The acquisition aligns with Zeelo's growth strategy, enhancing its US presence and technological capabilities in smart bus routing, which promises significant cost savings and increased ridership for clients.

Zeelo is committed to sustainability, targeting a full transition to net-zero emission electric vehicles by 2030, with a current 10% of its UK fleet already electric.
