President Biden has instructed NASA to create a Coordinated Lunar Time (LTC) zone by the end of 2026.

The LTC will be aligned with Earth's timekeeping systems, taking into account the faster time movement on the Moon due to its weaker gravity.

This initiative is part of the Artemis program, aiming to return humans to the Moon, with a crewed mission slated for 2025 and a lunar landing targeted for 2026.

The standardized lunar time is expected to enhance precision in spacecraft operations and communications for the U.S. and international partners.
