Before his surgery, Kaprizov was having an impressive season, leading the team with 52 points, which included 23 goals and 29 assists over 37 games.

Head coach John Hynes acknowledged that while Kaprizov's return to skating is encouraging, there is no immediate timeline for his return to game action.

This is not the first time Kaprizov has faced injury issues this season, as he previously missed 12 games due to injury in late December 2024 and January 2025.

Kaprizov, who won the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie for the 2020-21 season, has amassed a total of 382 points, including 183 goals and 199 assists, in 315 career games with the Wild.

At 27 years old, Kaprizov has been sidelined since January 26, 2025, and is currently listed as week-to-week with just 10 games left in the regular season.
