Drew O'Connor has signed a two-year contract extension worth $5 million with the Vancouver Canucks as of February 18, 2025.

The Canucks acquired O'Connor from the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 1, 2025, in a trade that involved defenseman Vincent Desharnais, forward Danton Heinen, defenseman Marcus Pettersson, prospect Melvin Fernstrom, and a protected 2025 first-round draft pick.

Since joining the Canucks, the 26-year-old forward has made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in just four games.

Since making his NHL debut in January 2021, O'Connor has recorded a total of 68 career points, comprising 32 goals and 36 assists in 214 games.

Overall, O'Connor has accumulated 18 points, including eight goals and ten assists, in 57 games this season across both teams.

Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin expressed confidence in O'Connor's potential, highlighting his size, speed, and forechecking ability as key attributes for his future development with the team.
