The procedure to remove the loose body is scheduled for December 18, 2024, in New York.

Due to his placement on injured reserve, Stolarz will miss the upcoming road game against the Dallas Stars, but he could return for a rematch against the Sabres on December 20, 2024.

General manager Brad Treliving confirmed that while an MRI showed no structural damage, the loose body is causing Stolarz discomfort and limiting his range of motion.

The injury, which has sidelined Stolarz for four to six weeks, requires knee surgery to remove a loose body described as a 'little pebble'.

Stolarz signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Maple Leafs after winning the Stanley Cup as a backup with the Florida Panthers.
