Texas Tech's basketball team is looking to build on a strong 2025 season, where they finished with a 28-9 record and reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

Following a series of strategic transfers, the Red Raiders have moved up to No. 6 in the CBS Sports Preseason Top 25 And 1 rankings.

A key highlight of their offseason is the return of JT Toppin, the 2025 Big 12 Player of the Year, who rejoined the team with a significant NIL deal reportedly worth $4 million.

In addition to Toppin, Texas Tech has strengthened its roster by adding two notable transfers: LeJuan Watts from Washington State and Donovan Atwell from UNC Greensboro, both of whom averaged over 13 points per game last season and shot at least 39.8% from three-point range.

With these new transfers, Texas Tech is expected to enhance its competitiveness in the upcoming season, alongside returning players Christian Anderson and Federiko Federiko.
