Top European basketball prospect Andrija Jelavic has officially committed to play for the University of Kentucky starting in the 2025 season, as confirmed by his agent Misko Raznatovic and reported by ESPN's Jonathan Givony.

Jelavic, a 6-foot-11 forward from Serbia, has showcased his skills in the Adriatic League, averaging 10.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over 53 games with Mega Superbet.

Known for his impressive 7'2 wingspan, Jelavic is recognized for his mobility and versatility, having made 52 three-pointers in the past two seasons while shooting 62% on two-point attempts.

During the playoffs of the 2023-24 season, he excelled with an average of 13.8 points per game, shooting an impressive 70.4% from the field and 44.4% from three-point range.

Jelavic will join a Kentucky Wildcats team that has bolstered its roster this offseason with several talented transfers, including Jayden Quaintance from Arizona State and Jaland Lowe from Pittsburgh.

Kentucky's program, led by Mark Pope, reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament in March 2025 but was eliminated by Tennessee, and they are looking to enhance their performance in 2026 with a strong group of transfers and a solid recruiting class.

His commitment is indicative of a significant shift in college basketball recruiting, influenced by the rise of name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals, which have allowed international players to secure lucrative contracts.

Jelavic's commitment comes amid a growing trend in NCAA basketball, with other notable international recruits such as Sananda Fru heading to Louisville and David Mirkovic enrolling at Illinois.

The Wildcats are also in the mix for Nate Ament, a highly ranked uncommitted high school senior projected as a top-five pick in the 2026 NBA draft.

In the 2023-24 season, Jelavic averaged 10.3 points with a field goal percentage of 47.1%, alongside 7.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals.
