The Gonzaga Bulldogs have ascended to the top of the college basketball Power Rankings, replacing Auburn as the new No. 1 team.

While Kansas holds the preseason No. 1 position in the AP Top 25, Gonzaga's recent performances have solidified their status in the Power Rankings.

This ranking follows Gonzaga's impressive victories over California schools, including an 80-67 win against San Diego State and a dominant 84-41 win over Long Beach State.

Earlier in the season, Gonzaga showcased their offensive strength with a significant 101-63 victory over then-No. 8 Baylor.

Currently, the Bulldogs lead in several statistical categories, boasting the No. 1 offense in adjusted efficiency margin and ranking No. 3 in fewest turnovers per game, averaging just 8.0.

Defensively, Gonzaga ranks No. 7 in 3-point percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot only 22.5% from beyond the arc.

The Power Rankings take into account recent performance, level of competition, and subjective factors such as momentum and margin of victory.
