The deadline for players drafted in the 2021 NBA Draft to sign rookie-scale contract extensions was set for 6 p.m. ET on October 21.

As the deadline approached, several top players from the 2021 NBA Draft secured long-term extensions with their teams.

Cade Cunningham, the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, signed a lucrative 5-year contract extension worth $224 million with the Detroit Pistons.

Evan Mobley, selected third overall in the same draft, also inked a 5-year, $224 million extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Scottie Barnes, the No. 4 pick, agreed to a similar 5-year, $224 million extension with the Toronto Raptors.

Franz Wagner, picked eighth in the draft, secured a 5-year contract extension valued at $224 million with the Orlando Magic.

Additionally, Trey Murphy, the No. 17 pick, signed a 4-year contract extension worth $112 million with the New Orleans Pelicans.
