The Chicago Bulls have confirmed the signing of former San Antonio Spurs lottery pick Josh Primo to an Exhibit 10 contract for training camp.

This move aligns with the Bulls' strategy of integrating young talent alongside experienced players as they undergo significant roster changes.

The Bulls are in the midst of a transformation, including trading DeMar DeRozan and exploring trades for Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.

Primo, who was selected as the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, is currently rehabilitating a left ankle injury and is expected to join the Bulls' G-League affiliate for rehab.

Due to his injury, Primo is not expected to participate in training camp and will focus solely on his rehabilitation.

Before joining the Bulls, Primo had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he was waived after appearing in just two games.

His release from the Spurs in October 2022 followed an investigation that confirmed multiple acts of indecent exposure towards women.

In September 2023, the NBA suspended Primo for four games for conduct detrimental to the league, stemming from the same investigation.

Primo's return to the league may face resistance from fans due to his controversial past, complicating his chances of securing a permanent position.

As a rookie, he played 50 games, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds, but spent most of last season in the G League, averaging 16.7 points per game.

After his release from the Spurs, Primo indicated he was addressing previous trauma and sought help for his mental health struggles.

Despite his promising start with the Spurs, his career has been marred by allegations and controversies that have impacted his opportunities in the league.
