Real Salt Lake (RSL) made a significant impact in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft held on December 20, 2024, selecting eight players, including four first-round picks.

With four first-round selections, RSL had the second-most picks in the draft, just behind Colorado, which secured five.

The first-round selections included forward Jesus Barea (19th overall), goalkeeper Max Kerkvliet (21st), forward Linekar Rodrigues dos Santos (29th), and forward Sergi Solans (30th).

RSL is focused on leveraging recent successes to build for the future, emphasizing player development through their academy and community partnerships.

Jesus Barea, hailing from Cádiz, Spain, was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, scoring 15 goals in the 2024 season, which ranks him as the second-highest scorer in MSU's history.

Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos, a senior from Brazil, also scored 15 goals in 2024, playing a crucial role in helping Marshall reach the NCAA Championship game.

Max Kerkvliet, a redshirt freshman from Houston, Texas, had an impressive season with a goals against average of 0.77, earning All-Conference Third-Team honors after starting all 18 matches for UConn.

Sergi Solans, another redshirt freshman from Spain, made his mark by scoring 14 goals in his first collegiate season at Oregon State.

In the final round of the draft, RSL selected midfielder Liam O'Gara from Wake Forest (79th overall) and defender Aleksandar Vukovic from Marshall University (89th overall).

RSL strategically traded $75,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) to Columbus Crew for the 21st pick and $50,000 to LA Galaxy for the 30th pick, enhancing their draft position.

Additionally, RSL acquired more picks through a trade with New York Red Bulls, sending $700,000 in future GAM for their 29th, 59th, and 89th overall selections, along with a second-round pick in the 2026 draft.

Reflecting on their recent season, RSL achieved a club-record 15-game unbeaten run and scored a total of 65 goals, the highest in the club's history, finishing with an all-time high of 59 points.
