Real Salt Lake (RSL) will head into the MLS playoffs without key defender Philip Quinton, who is sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

Coach Pablo Mastroeni expressed disappointment over Quinton's absence, indicating that his recovery may take several weeks.

Despite these setbacks, RSL finished the season strong, achieving a club-record 59 points and securing the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

Quinton sustained this injury during the first half of the regular-season finale against Vancouver on October 21.

Mastroeni praised Quinton as a vital player and expressed hope for a quicker recovery than expected.

Adding to RSL's challenges, they will also be without starting center back Brayan Vera, who is serving a suspension for spitting at a Minnesota United player earlier in the season.

RSL's first playoff match is set for October 29 against Minnesota United, with potential subsequent games scheduled for November 2 and November 9.
