Last year's postseason average game time was notably reduced to 3 hours and 2 minutes, a significant drop from 3 hours and 23 minutes in 2022 and 3 hours and 37 minutes in 2021.

During this year's League Championship Series (LCS), runs per game averaged 11.3, marking an increase from 8.8 in 2023, 7.9 in 2022, and 9.9 in 2021.

The duration of LCS games has also seen a decline, with the average time previously recorded at 3 hours and 40 minutes in 2021, dropping to 3 hours and 26 minutes during the first season of PitchCom, and further down to 3 hours and 4 minutes last year after the implementation of the pitch clock.

This year, the average time of a nine-inning game during the LCS increased by 12 minutes, bringing it to 3 hours and 16 minutes.

In a move to enhance game pace, Major League Baseball (MLB) announced a reduction of the pitch clock with runners on base to 18 seconds, effective for the upcoming 2024 season.

While the pitch clock will be set to 18 seconds with runners on base, it will remain at 15 seconds when there are no runners.
