O'Melveny & Myers has announced the appointment of Stephanie Keen and Sylvia Taslim as partners in its Singapore office.

Stephanie Keen brings nearly 30 years of experience, having previously served as managing partner at Hogan Lovells Singapore, where she focused on high-value, cross-border deals.

Sylvia Taslim, with almost 20 years of experience, specializes in joint ventures, public takeovers, and private equity transactions.

Both Keen and Taslim were previously partners at Hogan Lovells and will enhance O'Melveny's M&A practice.

Keen's expertise encompasses leveraged buyouts, M&A, equity offerings, and corporate restructurings.

Taslim has a particular focus on energy-related mergers and acquisitions, having handled significant transactions in that sector.

The demand for deals is being driven by US and Asia-based corporations expanding in Southeast Asia, with Singapore emerging as a key hub.

O'Melveny predicts an increase in mergers and acquisitions activity due to pent-up demand and Singapore's growing status as a deal center in Asia.

Mid-market private equity investments and rising interest from Chinese funds and corporates are also contributing to the expected rise in deal activity.
