In September, German producer prices experienced a year-on-year decline of 1.4%, surpassing analysts' expectations of a 1.0% drop.

This decline was largely driven by a significant 6.6% decrease in energy prices compared to the same month last year.

However, when energy prices are excluded, producer prices actually rose by 1.2%, reflecting increased costs for capital, consumer, and intermediate goods.

Notably, mineral oil products saw a substantial price drop of 14.4%.

September marked the 15th consecutive month of decline in Germany's producer prices index, a key indicator of inflation.

On a month-to-month basis, producer prices fell by 0.5%, which was a larger decrease than the anticipated 0.2%.
