Tony Finau has signed a one-match contract with the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) to compete against the New York Golf Club in the TGL league, with the match scheduled for February 24, 2025.

Expressing his enthusiasm for TGL matches, Finau noted the excitement of team golf and his respect for his teammates.

Currently, LAGC holds a record of 2-0-1 in the league, ranking second with five points after winning two matches and losing once in overtime.

The TGL rules allow teams to replace a starting player who is unable to compete, providing roster flexibility.

Finau will join teammates Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala for this competition, as regular players Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood are unavailable due to prior commitments.

Finau has notable records in prestigious events like the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup, further solidifying his reputation in the sport.

Ranked No. 26 in the world, Finau is a six-time PGA Tour winner, with his most recent victory at the 2023 Mexico Open.

The match will take place at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where Finau looks forward to experiencing the atmosphere and practicing with his new team.

TGL, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has a reserve pool of PGA Tour players to fill in when teams cannot field three players.

Neal Hubman, co-founder and president of LAGC, expressed excitement about Finau joining the team, emphasizing his popularity and commitment to making golf more accessible to youth.

Finau will team up with Morikawa and Theegala for the match, contributing to LAGC's strong performance in the league.
