No reason was provided for Zalatoris' withdrawal, and he has been replaced in the tournament field by Ryan Moore.

Zalatoris was set to compete alongside Maverick McNealy and Justin Rose, with a tee time of 12:34 p.m. ET.

His withdrawal adds to the challenges faced by the Farmers Insurance Open, which is already missing notable players like Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa.

Zalatoris aimed to compete in his third event in four weeks, following a tied 12th place finish at the American Express tournament.

The 28-year-old golfer has been recovering from a microdiscectomy surgery in 2023 and has gained approximately 15 to 20 pounds of muscle during the offseason.

Zalatoris gained prominence by winning the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship but has struggled with a back injury since then.

The withdrawals come ahead of an expected announcement that Torrey Pines will host the Genesis Invitational next month, relocating from Riviera due to wildfires in Los Angeles.
